Some Items of Note

Advances towards transgenics and transhumanism are signs of motion toward the mark of the beast.

Pentagon Looks to Breed Immortal ‘Synthetic Organisms,’ Molecular Kill-Switch Included (2/5/11 - Wired.com)
Excerpt: As part of its budget for the next year, Darpa is investing $6 million into a project called BioDesign, with the goal of eliminating “the randomness of natural evolutionary advancement.” The plan would assemble the latest bio-tech knowledge to come up with living, breathing creatures that are genetically engineered to “produce the intended biological effect.” Darpa wants the organisms to be fortified with molecules that bolster cell resistance to death, so that the lab-monsters can “ultimately be programmed to live indefinitely.”

Darpa’s New Plans: Crowdsource Intel, Edit DNA (2/2/11 - Wired.com)
Excerpt: "Editing DNA could have widespread implications, but Darpa seems most interested in two: microchip implants that restore senses and movement in traumatic injury patients, and the ongoing Darpa goal of boosting troop performance in the field:"

Pacific Biosciences Backlog Grows (2/19/2011 - Gerson Lehrman Group News)
Excerpts:

"Pacific Biosciences continues to build its backorder list of early-access customers. It now stands at 38 as the company prepares for the Q2 commercial release of its PacBio RS System. According to Pacific Biosciences CEO Hugh Martin, orders placed now are expected to ship in Q4, where revenues will be recognized by the company."

"According to leading experts and companies, sequencing appears to be the "next big thing" in clinical diagnostics since immunoassays. National Human Genome Research Director Eric Green recently said in a report that over the next ten years, new sequencing technology will play an important role in making genomic medicine a reality. Companies such as Genomic Health plans to move its platform from real-time PCR (RT-PCR) to "nex-gen" sequencing systems provided by companies such as Pacific Biosciences and the Ion Torrent unit of Life Technologies. It has already transitioned its entire R&D program to nex-gen sequencing technology for discovery projects. Sequencing technology should also benefit companies such as Myriad Genetics, Sequenom and major commercial reference labs such as Quest Diagnostics and Laboratory Corporation of America."

This is what io9.com had written about the coming technology back in 2008. (Maybe they do come from the future. :) )

Instant DNA Scan is SMRT, I Mean S-M-A-R-T (9/15/2008 - io9.com)
Excerpt: "Medcal treatments will take a quantum leap forward once we can develop drugs that are genetically tailored to a specific individual. But to do that, we need a way to sequence someone's DNA quickly and cheaply. Today, it takes months and costs six figures. Pacific Biosciences' Single-Molecule, Real-Time (SMRT) DNA sequencer is going to change that."

You may recall what I've been writing about my growing awareness that the mark of the beast transformation will probably be facilitated by an implanted microchip that uses bioacoustics to transform the DNA in a way that is personalized for each individual.

After the previous post had been published and email went out, I completed and posted a related video, which you see here. I updated the previous post after the email subscriptions had already been sent, appending this video at the bottom. So here it is again for the benefit of those who only follow this blog by subscription feed.

One final item: Oil wealth 'must be shared' with citizens says Soros (3/3/2011 - BBC)
Excerpt: "Mr Soros also predicted the Iranian regime would be overthrown in the 'bloodiest of the revolutions'"
Does it count as a prediction if you're in a position to make it happen?
